The stories, Tales from the Hotel Bentmoore: #1-#4, have been up for sale on B&N.com and Amazon.com for about two weeks. I'm still learning as I go, tweaking things, making changes. Granted, two weeks is not a long time at all; but here are a few things I've noticed so far:
1. I'm selling a LOT more copies on B&N than on Amazon. I have no idea why. The stories are available on Smashwords, as well, but you would never know it by the numbers I'm selling there. Seriously, it astounds me how much better they're selling on B&N than on the other two sites.
2. Another fact to to favor B&N: when I needed to make changes to the descriptions of the stories (and I think I needed to do that twice), B&N had them up and live again much faster than Amazon. They took a few hours; Amazon took three days. That is a crazy difference.
3. There is a huge difference between erotica and romance, but the best authors, the selling authors who still consider themselves erotica writers, will blend the two into something called "erotica romance." The Tales from the Hotel Bentmoore stories are, I think, pure erotica. There is no romance, no happy ending, no boy-gets-the-girl-and-they-live-in-love. These stories are pure sex, for the pleasure of sex. I might write at some point an "erotica romance" story; but right now, I'm having fun with what I'm doing.
And, of course, I'm still writing as much as I can, as often as I can. The next batch of stories is tentatively to be called Masters of the Hotel Bentmoore. More info as I get them done.

Tales from the Hotel Bentmoore available
They are available individually, for .99 cents. THERE IS NOTHING ELSE ON AMAZON THAT HAS FIGGING IN IT FOR THAT PRICE. By the way.
The figging is in story #3, Mark and Audra. I will be making a collection of all four stories available soon.

What do I write?
Well, right now, I'm deeply involved in a collection of short erotica stories I'm hoping to put up on Amazon soon as singles. They'll include BDSM, spanking, paddling, whipping, speech restriction, F/F/M, M/M/F, and figging. They'll be short, but...sweet. Something you can read fast, that will help you get in a "happy place" in your head. And don't we all need a way to get into a happy place now and then?
I've written paranormal romance, young adult romance, young adult fantasy, sci-fi, and horror, all of differing lengths. Some of my writings make me proud, and some stories I just want to burn. I don't burn them, of course. I never actually throw away any of my writing. But no one will ever see it.
But the erotica....I think some readers might get a kick out of it. Or at least a few tingles.

Why Do I Write?
Why do I write? The answer is very simple: writing gives me a high. I know some people get a high from eating certain foods, like chocolate or cheesecake. And I've heard of "runner's high," the feeling some people get after a good workout. (I've never experienced that, of course. That's why I don't run.)
Writing makes me high. It fills me with euphoria, makes me tremble and gasp for air. When I write something that I feel, in my gut, is a piece of great writing, be it a scene or a paragraph or even just a sentence that sets the tone perfectly, endorphins begin to flood my bloodstream and all my nerve endings tingle with thrilling delight. Writing brings me to heights of ecstasy that almost nothing else can. It's my drug.
Which is not to say I couldn't quit if I had to. Writing is not an addiction; I get so sick of people saying, "I write because I have to write." People kick their compulsions when they have to all the time, be it because it's become dangerous or life threatening or puts them at risk for ending up in prison or the morgue. If I ever felt like writing was taking over my life or becoming a danger to the stability and well being of my family, I would stop. I would miss the high, but I would stop.
But it doesn't look like that's going to happen anytime soon. So I'm going to keep writing, and hopefully, write something that people enjoy, and gives them the same euphoria it gave me. Makes them feel all warm and tingly inside.
So if you're reading this, welcome. You've arrived just in time; we've only just begun. Hopefully, it will be a long, pleasant ride.
